Tom Dixon

Intensive Care Medicine · Liver Critical Care

Tom is an Intensive Care Medicine registrar in London with specialist experience in liver critical care at King’s College Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. His academic interests focus on liver dysfunction in critical illness, prognostication and longitudinal clinical data. His current research examines dynamic bilirubin trajectories in critically ill patients with cirrhosis and how these approaches might inform risk stratification, trial design and clinical decision-making.

Joe Wilson

Liver Failure Research · Intensive Care

Joe is a Clinical Research Fellow in liver failure syndromes at King’s College London. His research focuses on immunomodulation and immunometabolism in acute liver failure and ACLF, particularly the mechanisms of immune dysregulation and their potential to improve patient outcomes. He trained at the University of Oxford and has spent the past four years at King’s College Hospital. He is working towards a career as an intensive care clinician scientist and is passionate about improving liver and immunology education.

Hagar Aly

Anaesthetics & Intensive Care Medicine · Liver Critical Care

Hagar is a dual Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine trainee in Thames Valley, currently undertaking an OOPT at the Royal Free Hospital to develop further experience in liver critical care. She holds MBBCh, MSc, PGCert, FRCA and FFICM qualifications, and her interests include general intensive care and trauma anaesthesia. Born and raised in Egypt, she has seen the impact of liver disease both professionally and personally, including losing her grandfather to HCV-related hepatocellular carcinoma. This has shaped a particular interest in improving the care of patients with liver disease outside specialist centres.

Tamsyn Clark

HPB Surgery · Liver Machine Perfusion Research

Tamsyn is an ST7 in Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences, University of Oxford. Her research interests include ex vivo normothermic machine perfusion for drug testing and in situ machine perfusion for patient-connected drug delivery to the liver.

Phoebe Schofield

Clinical Research · Liver Critical Care

Phoebe is a Senior Clinical Research Fellow following completion of core anaesthetics training. She holds an InnovateMD Fellowship focused on improving equity of care for adults with cirrhosis and acute-on-chronic liver failure across North Central London. Her research also examines post-hepatectomy liver failure, including work to develop international consensus guidance that can support future research and improve standards of care.

Cameron Griffiths

Hepatology · Liver Failure Research

Cameron is a higher specialty trainee in hepatology and is currently completing a PhD examining mechanisms involved in the development and progression of liver disease. His academic interests centre on liver disease pathobiology and the translation of mechanistic insights into treatment. He is in his fourth year at the Royal Free Hospital, where he works with patients with acute liver failure and acute-on-chronic liver failure.
